Alumni Council .
IHMS is still in the process of forming an Alumni Council, as we are still creating a database for our alumni.

"On Saturday April 21, 2012 Immaculate Heart of Mary School hosted its very first Alumni Reunion, which was a huge success!!! It was overwhelming and very much appreciated to receive so much love and support from our Alumni.
We are facing very difficult times at IHMS due to harsh economic times, which have caused a drastic drop in student enrollment over the years. We are in the process of creating an Alumni Association in hopes of stabilizing the security of our beloved school for another 90 years! There are so many of us out there who love IHMS and are very grateful to have grown up in such an amazing school. We are always looking for Alumni Volunteers! In the near future we would like to organize a Career Day for the children of I.H.M. I am sure many of you are in fields of work that will inspire our kids to dream big and study hard…
Please help by spreading the word and becoming an active member of our Alumni Association! We are all working very hard to keep Immaculate Heart of Mary School open and thriving for the children of our community and if anyone has any ideas or would like to help, please contact me at [email protected]"

"My name is Ana Ibeth Chinchilla and I am currently a freshman at California State University Northridge. I was a student at Immaculate Heart of Mary for nine years and graduated in 2009. Attending IHM and forming part of the IHM family was a wonderful experience that taught me so much about my Christian values, respect for others, and most importantly respect for myself. I was fortunate to have been a part of the student body at IHM and to have learned so much from some of the most amazing teachers.
Immaculate Heart of Mary School not only taught me so much, but it also prepared me for what the future had in store for me. They were the primary foundation of my education and have shaped the person who I am today. I have made it this far along my journey because of everything that I learned as a child. Immaculate Heart of Mary was my home away from home, where I spent most of my time and the place where I have some of the most amazing childhood memories.
I enjoy going back and visiting the school and the teachers, and reminisce on the great memories that I experienced there. Time flew right by me; it still amazes me to think how just a couple of years ago I was a child learning my grammar, my spelling, and my algebra and now here I am today aiming to pursue a career. I have big goals for my future and I hope to achieve each and every single one of them little by little. I aspire to go to medical school and become a pediatrician. Although it seems like the future is still very far away, I know that the clock never stops ticking and every day I am a step closer to become the person who I want to be." - Ana Chinchilla, IHM Class of 2009

"My first year of high school seemed to not be what I expected it to be. Going into Bell-Jeff, I thought that I would have a hard time trying to do my work because of all the things I heard about high school. Surprisingly, I was able to get through my first year of high school with a GPA of 4.17. I think that, if it wasn’t for all the lessons that the teachers from IHM taught me, I would not have been able to succeed through my freshman year with very high grades. IHM helped me understand all of the advanced lessons that came my way. In my first year of high school, I had two Honors classes, Geometry H and English H. Also, my Geometry teacher, as well as the Academic Decathlon coach, asked me to join the AcaDeca team at Bell-Jeff, along with two of my classmates and a lot of seniors who were able to guide us through the competition. During the spring season, I was able to join the Bell-Jeff Volleyball Team with two graduates from IHM and other students from Bell-Jeff.
Now, going into my second year, I plan to take four Honors classes, including Algebra II, English II, Spanish II, and Biology, and one AP class, AP European History. I want to take these classes because all of the teachers at Bell-Jeff motivated me, as well as the teachers of IHM during my past years. Most of the teachers noticed the kind of work I was capable of doing and wanted me to work harder to become the Valedictorian when I graduate. Taking these classes will help me concentrate more on my studies instead of something else that could distract me. Thank you, IHM, for helping me be where I am today!"
